Tax Deductions for an LLC?

I just recently started my own LLC and work for myself as a contractor and have not done my first set of taxes yet. I'd like to buy a used laptop off of craigslist. Do I need to insist on using a personal check in order to deduct the expense on my taxes? If the seller does not want to use a check, what else can I do?
