Destroying a Hard Drive?

I have some old hard drives. Say i overwrote them with 1's and 0's. then opened up the hard drvies and hooked them back up to the computer. While the drives were spinning took a nail to them so it scratched them pretty good. Then took a hammer to the platters so it dented them. Then threw the platters in the fireplace for half an hour. Then threw the platters by themselves in the trash without the cases or electrical junk. Would my info still be retreivable? Like social and stuff. Or am i just overly paranoid about the data stealing stuff. Like if trash workers or people going threw landfills tried to get my data?
