Should I read "The Scarlet Letter"?

It's a decent read, but rather lengthy in description. It honestly goes on for pages just describing the scene without too much actual plot. I think you should stick to what you like best. Or just flip through a couple of pages and see if you can read a page and understand what is going on or if it goes completely over your head.
