Can Democrats give me how Geographic coordinates are expressed in angular measurement.?

pretty lame...I am a surveyor by profession...I use actual feet east and north from a certain position. I convert longitude and latitude into a format in which I can use actual coordinates of specific places...such as 10,000 feet east an 10,000 feet north....I have maps showing me rough approximations of long/lat...but I let the computer convert it for me. To me long/lat is something a sailor would use to simply understand how far he is across the ocean
